Happy Anniversary Nan and Pops

Dear Nan and Pops,

Here is Jessie wishing you a very Happy Anniversary from all of us, sorry it's late.

I would also like to take this opportunity to apologise to my Mum and Dad for forgetting their anniversary for the last 32 years, and to Ruth and John for the last 10, or is it 11?!! Lizzie and Steve don't hold your breath for a card each year, it's not my strongest point.

The Whale Song

Here is Jessie singing the Whale Song which she learnt at school.

In the unlikely event that you have difficulty interpreting her accent, here are the lyrics:

Baby Bulooga in the deep blue sea,

Swims so wild and swims so free,

Heaven above and the sea below,

Little white whale on the go.

Massachusetts in the Fall

My friend Sarah Russett is currently doing a photography class as part of her undergrad degree at the nearby Endicott College. She posted the following photos which she recently took in the locality on her 'facebook' page, and because I liked them so much she has kindly let me post them here. This is to give all our friends and family back in Blighty a taste of the wonders in this part of America at this time of year. I hope I never take this blessing for granted. Enjoy!!

You can go whale watching off the nearby coast. Something which I have since decided I should do before we come home to England.

Kids, don't chew wasps.

Flight of the Jessie

One of my favourite psalms

Psalm 67
God be gracious to us and bless us, And cause His face to shine upon us.
That Your way may be known on the earth, Your salvation among all nations.
Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You.
Let the nations be glad and sing for joy; For You will judge the peoples with uprightness And guide the nations on the earth.
Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You.
The earth has yielded its produce; God, our God, blesses us.
God blesses us, That all the ends of the earth may fear Him.

Tattoos and make-up

My best attempt at a 'friendly' Jack-o-Lantern.
CC likes to be walked everywhere. A fortnight ago she took 3 steps before falling over.
Jessie's own beautifying regime has worked a treat.
Jessie did all this herself. She even got the tattoos out of a top drawer and applied a whole sheet without us noticing.
The Likely Lasses

The Fall colours are here

Little pumpkins and apple picking

CC has the most dazzling blue eyes.
Jessie (the name she now officially says she prefers) shows off her strength to my friends from Endicott College on our apple picking social.

Leisure

Leisure.

What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.

No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.

No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.

No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.

No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.

A poor life this is if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
